Kauhale Kai has now spent over 4 years traveling the world . This year we passed 50,000 ocean miles, a distance of almost twice around the center of the earth! She has offered us a million small moments of adventure, laughter, excitement and satisfaction.

Each person who has spent time with us aboard has been a big part of that experience. I once said, "If I ever make it big I'm going to buy a big boat and invite all my friends to come and play with me." Well, play we have. Thank you....all of you who have been a part of this experience. The journey continues!!

Weather Change

The wind picked up and the temperature dropped.
So what did we do? Head to the local fur dealer of course:

Corfu, Greece

In Corfu, Alec and Cindy Chambers headed back home and Ted and Carolyn Roched joined the boat. We spent a few days driving scooters around the island, exploring old town, and eating lots of Souvlaki and Greek Salads.

Montenegro

After leaving Croatia, we cruised down along the coast and spent 2 days in Kotor, Montenegro. The trip up the waterway in the midst of the Montenegran Fjords was beautiful and clear. We had a wonderful time.

Our New Family

After being on the boat for almost three months, I must say the crew we have aquired is absolutely awesome. They work hard, they know what they're doing, they are fun to be around, and nothing short of incredible:

Mark:
Captain

Jack:
first mate, deckhand

Ashley:
deckhand, stewardess, cook

Simone:
cook, stewardess

Aussie Sunrise

We made some new friends in Dubrovnik as well. A group of Aussie travelers. Good people.

Go Upstairs and don't wake the parents!

Dubrovnik, round 2

September 10, 2007
We headed south to Dubrovnik, which was a first for the parents and a repeat offend for me, but the third time was a charm. Beautiful as always, you be the judge:

Kellie and I flew back to Croatia on Sept 4th and met up with the boat, my parents, Alec and Cindy Chambers as well as Keiki Kai. We spent a couple beautiful and sometimes stormy days in Trogir, near Split before heading south.

Budapest

Although this set of adventures happened far from Kauhale Kai and the coast of Croatia, I decided to include them in our blog of travels. We left the boat on August 25th and headed to Budapest, Hungary for 5 days and then some of us continued on to Berlin.
